How it works
From invoice to a reviewed working file
ICEGATE remains the official place to file. This workspace is the preparation before it.
- Step 1
Understand and extract
Upload a commercial invoice (PDF or photo). Every value read from it shows the line it came from, and how sure the reading is.
- Step 2
Understand the goods
Tariff descriptions, duty rates as printed and related exemptions and anti-dumping entries, from the accepted official-source database, with the page to check.
- Step 3
Check
Missing values, arithmetic, documents that disagree and unconfirmed tariff codes are listed in plain words. Nothing is corrected silently.
- Step 4
Review
You confirm every important value. The system suggests; it never chooses a classification or an exemption for you.
- Step 5
Prepare
Your confirmed values, laid out in the selected ICEGATE import template, plus a research memo. Not filed, not approved by Customs.

What to expect
Plain answers before you start
What the workspace does, what it does not do, and what is free.
- What does this website do?
- It helps you prepare an Indian customs filing before you go to ICEGATE: find the tariff item for your goods, see the duty as printed in the official sources, read your commercial invoice into reviewable values, check them, and lay your confirmed values out in the ICEGATE import template. It is for shipments into or out of India; amounts follow Indian customs rules.
- What can I do for free?
- Searching HS codes, reading the official sources and using the duty calculator need no account. A free account adds the shipment workspace with a monthly allowance; the plans page lists what each plan includes.
- What happens when I upload an invoice?
- The file is stored privately and read in the background. Every value comes with the line of the document it was read from and how sure the reading is. Nothing is final until you confirm it; scans and photos always need your review. You can delete the file at any time and keep the values.
- What is checked?
- Missing and unconfirmed values, arithmetic (quantity × price, line totals), documents that disagree, formats the template needs, and whether your tariff code exists in the accepted official-source database. Each problem is listed in plain words; nothing is corrected for you.
- What is not covered?
- The classification, the duty and the filing are yours. Licensing and other-agency (PGA) requirements and FTA eligibility are not checked yet. The working file is prepared using the supplied ICEGATE template; its acceptance by ICEGATE has not been independently verified. Nothing here is a Customs approval or legal advice.
- Why come back?
- Saved products keep their confirmed classification for the next shipment, the watchlist follows notifications for your tariff items, and each shipment keeps its documents, history and review report in one place.
- Why would I pay?
- Higher monthly allowances, a firm with team roles, a client portal for your importers and exporters, and the customs research memo. Paid plans cannot be bought online yet: contact the site operator.
